Heading out!
After a few days of intensive workshops we left Timberline Ranch in our groups to four main areas. The Richmond and North Vancouver teams left for their respective destinations Wednesday. The Victoria and Kelowna groups left bright and early Thursday morning. We will be starting the festivals in the communities at 3 PM today!!!
All of us really enjoyed the time we had at Timberline Ranch. Most, if not all, of us have been able to learn so much both from the speakers and from the workshops. Wednesday, some of us were able to put on a sort of talent show of what we have learned in the past couple days. Josiah K. and Becca did what is called a Slinkey Dance. Basically what they do is stand inside some sort of flexible tube and then they will act out a story while they bend and twist around. Take a look at the pictures I'll be putting on.
Yesterday the Richmond team went over to World Harvest Church and did some more training after devotions led by our team leader Michael Parker. In the after noon we walked over to the site we will be having our festivals at, Trinity Lutheran Church. After that, most of us walked over to the mall and wandered around for a couple hours. After supper we got to meet some of the local volunteers that will be helping us put on the festival.

Timberline Ranch!!
Well, after many troubles with vans on various teams (leaking coolant, having the trailer fall off while driving ending up in a 3 car "pile up" in the words of Curtis, but the pile up never happened, it was just Curtis being dramatic...), we all made it safe and sound to Timberline Ranch near Maple Ridge BC. There are people from all over the world gathering together here. People from Australia, Switzerland, Canada (of course), Jamaica, Germany, England, and even South Africa.
Today was filled with many different workshops on various activities we will be helping to lead once we get to the different places in and around Vancouver later on in the week. These included juggling, clowning, living statues, line dancing, balloon sculpting, and facepainting.
hi mom! From Dieta
That's what happens when I leave to go get food, Dieta comes and writes stuff on the blog. The food, by the way, is very good. This morning for breakfast we had pancakes and sausage, for lunch we had turkey pot pie, and for supper spaghetti! We will try and post some interesting stories later on in the week.
Signing out from sunny plus 10 BC weather. (sorry couldn't resist rubbing that in...)
